‘I was stunned, delighted and humbled to learn that I had been named as a finalist for this award. I didn’t even know I had been nominated. I’ve been passionate about quality services for disabled people – whether that be learning disability, physical disability or those who are Autistic – since I was young. I started doing voluntary work in my teens and have spent most of my career since then, striving as much as possible to ensure that everybody, regardless of learning disability or Autism, can lead independent and fulfilling lives’ – David Reid
