Short Breaks Service - 25th October 2007

The Short Breaks Service is now fully operational.

The service offers up to 4 short break placements at any one time.

 
New Autism Specifc Children's Home - 25th October 2007

We are pleased to announce the opening of a second Autism Specifc Children's Home in January 2008.

The home will provide placements for up to three children with autism and associated conditions. 

One placement has already been confimed. Please contact us if you would like to discuss a possible referral for the other two placements.

 
Autism Department - 25th October 2007

The Autism Department at Birtenshaw Hall School is now fully operational.

Three classrooms have been refurhished and specifically designed to address the needs of children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, focusing on modifying existing patterns of behaviour and further independence.

 
Multi Sensory Hydrotherapy Pool - 25th October 2007

The Multi Sensory Hydrotherapy pool has been upgraded.

The upgarde will make accessing the Hydrotherapy pool easier for disabled children and enable us to loan the facilty to the wider community through the Bolton Primary Care Trust.

 
Woodland Garden - 22nd August 2007

The Woodland Garden will transform our grounds into an innovative, multi-sensory play environment and will be fully accessible for disabled and non-disabled children and young people.

Community groups and individuals will be able to make use of the the Woodland Garden.

Donation of Christmas Presents - 12th December 2007

   Thank you to Little Lever Golf Association for their donation of Christmas presents for disabled children at Birtenshaw. This will help make their Christmas more like any other child's.

 
Donation Towards a Specialist Bicycle - 12th December 2007

Thank you to the Provincial Charitable Trust for their donation which will assist us to purchase a specialist tricycle adapted for disabled children.  The tricycle will help disabled children to increase their range of movement, become more active and generally fitter

 
Donation of Games Console, games and peripherals - 12th December 2007
Thank you to the David Walsh Charity for their donation which will enable us to purchase a Games console, games and peripherals. This will assist disabled children develop hand to eye coordination, dexterity and just have fun when the weather is too bad to go outside.
