ABOUT US

Dear Parents and Carers

Birtenshaw Hall is a very special place – a place where dedicated staff work in partnership with parents and carers to provide a quality education in a caring, supportive environment.

Birtenshaw Hall is a small, non-maintained day/residential school and Registered Children’s Home for children and young people with severe and complex or profound and multiple learning difficulties in conjunction with either physical disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder or severe medical conditions.  The staff are greatly experienced in working with children and young people with degenerative and exceptional conditions, including life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses.

The original Victorian house and grounds have been thoughtfully extended and adapted to be fully accessible throughout, whilst retaining much of their original charm, and the organisation of the curriculum and residential activities reflects the needs and interests of the children and young people.

We hope that your son or daughter will be happy at Birtenshaw Hall and will benefit from the wide range of curricular and extra-curricular experiences available, and that their time with us will be enriching, enabling and life-enhancing.

Yours sincerely

Barbara Saddington
